WIESBADEN, Germany – Installation Management Command Europe welcomed its new senior enlisted leader Aug. 27 during a Change of Responsibility Ceremony on Allen Field at Clay Kaserne.

Command Sgt. Maj. Samara Pitre relinquished the colors, which were passed on to Command Sgt. Maj. Christopher Truchon by IMCOM-Europe Director Tommy Mize.

During his remarks, Mize recognized Pitre for her devotion to the mission, selfless service to the entire IMCOM-Europe community and her vision as an enterprise leader.

“She’s an absolutely true enterprise leader who has extended her influence far beyond just serving those at Installation Management Command Europe,” Mize said. “She’s made it a point to learn the nuances of these services because she knew that the best way she could serve the Army and everyone in it was to solve problems not only for individual Soldiers, but to solve programmatic issues at the enterprise level for all Soldiers in our Army.”

Everyone at IMCOM-Europe has come to rely on Pitre’s judgement, wisdom and her council, Mize said.

“She never ever misses an opportunity to motivate, coach, teach and mentor, and she does this for everyone – for commanders, for civilians, for mission partners, and especially for our Soldiers. We’ve all benefited from her incredible leadership and commitment and have been absolutely inspired by her service.”

Pitre, who spent two years as the U.S. Army Garrison Benelux command sergeant major before moving to IMCOM-Europe for another two years, will move on to a new, yet-to-be-announced assignment.

Pitre said her four years in Europe felt like they went by in “the blink of an eye,” she spent every day learning, and was proud to say she played a part in supporting the units and garrison communities.

“We’re taking care of the Soldiers, the civilians, all of their families and our retirees here in Europe in whatever capacity that support turns out to be for that given day,” she said, highlighting the complex and varied mission of IMCOM-Europe and the garrisons.

Truchon came to IMCOM-Europe after serving as the command sergeant major for U.S. Army Garrison Wiesbaden for two years and expressed his family’s excitement to remain within the IMCOM-Europe team.

“To the IMCOM-Europe team and all the people and organizations that it serves,” Truchon said, “I am excited to continue to work with the many great teammates and friends I’ve made over the last two years and to expand that circle over the coming weeks and months, as we work together to enable and enhance the readiness of our formations and the quality of life of our communities here in Europe.”

Truchon is exactly the right leader at the right time, Mize said, to help carry the IMCOM-Europe team to the next level of professionalism and service.
