Col. Martine S. Kidd is the commander of the 593d Expeditionary Sustainment Command. She enlisted in the Army Reserve as a Supply Specialist in 1989. Her first unit was the 2nd Battalion, 415th Infantry Regiment, 104th Infantry Division on North Fort Lewis, Washington. After receiving an ROTC scholarship and graduating from Methodist College, she was commissioned as a Quartermaster Officer in 1994.

Her first active duty assignment was with the 159th Aviation Regiment, Illesheim, Germany, where she worked as a Supply Platoon Leader and Battalion S1, which included a deployment to Bosnia and Herzegovina for Operation Joint Endeavor. Next she was assigned to the 10th Mountain Division and held several positions including Battalion S3, Company Commander, and Division Support Command S4. She then served as the Aide-de-Camp for the Commanding General of the Army and Air Force Exchange Service and deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. In April 2007, she deployed as the Logistics Planner for the 3rd Infantry Division and Multi-National Division (Center) during the OIF “Surge” in Iraq. Afterwards, she was a Logistics Instructor at the Command and General Staff College and the Executive Officer to the Deputy Commandant of the Combined Arms Center. In 2010, she deployed again as the Executive Officer to the Deputy Commanding General for Support, United States Forces-Iraq. She then commanded a Strategic Support Battalion for the Defense Logistics Agency-Energy in Houston, Texas, then transitioned to Fort Belvoir, Va. to work as the Executive Officer to the Commanding General of U.S. Army Cyber Command. From July 2015-July 2017, she served as the 34th Commander of the Anniston Army Depot in Anniston, Alabama. Following command, Col. Kidd was assigned as the Chief of Plans, CENTCOM J4. She returned to Alabama in July of 2019 and served as the Executive Officer to the Executive Deputy to the Commanding General of the Army Materiel Command. Most recently Col. Kidd was the Director of Sustainment and Force Management at the U.S. Army CGSC.

Col. Kidd holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications/Mass Media, a Master of Science in Logistics Management from the Florida Institute of Technology, a Master of Military Arts and Sciences in Theater Operations from the School of Advanced Military Studies, and a Master of Science in National Resource Strategy from the Dwight D. Eisenhower School at the National Defense University. She is a Distinguished Military Graduate from Methodist College, the Distinguished Graduate from the Logistics Executive Development Course, the Distinguished Master Logistician for her CGSC class of 2006, and the Distinguished Honor Graduate from the 2015 Senior Service College class at the Eisenhower School.

Her awards and decorations include the Defense Superior Service Medal, three Legions of Merit, two Bronze Star Medals, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Joint Service Commendation Medal, and the NATO Medal. She has been awarded the Order of Saint Martin (Bronze), and in 2020 she received the Somervell Medal of Excellence in multifunctional logistics. She is also a Distinguished Member of the Quartermaster Regiment.

Col. Kidd is married to Dr. Justin Kidd, a retired U.S. Army Lt. Col., who serves as an Assistant Professor at the Army’s School of Advanced Military Studies. He is also a former U.S. Marine.
